SPINAL TEAM : Mr Manoj Krishna

Mr Manoj Krishna was born in 1962 and did his basic medical and Orthopaedic training in, Pune, India. He came to Britain in 1989 and did more orthopedic training mainly in Liverpool and North Wales. In 1993 he then left and did a year's spinal surgical training in Brisbane, Australia. From Brisbane he went for 6 months to Hong Kong as a Spinal Fellow in the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital before completing his spinal surgery training with a 10 month spinal surgery fellowship at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, UK.

He joined North Tees Hospital in March 1996 and set up the Spinal Unit.

The service has grown from 600 patient referrals in 1996 to 3500 in 2005.

He is married with 2 children. His wife is a histopathologist. Besides his work and playing with the children, he enjoys travelling, teaching and reading. His interests include ecology, philosophy and poetry.

He also enjoys working out in a gym on a regular basis and walking, when he can find the time.
