Winnie Waugh - Low Back Pain

My back pain started 10 years ago. No too bad at first I could do most things, then I had 3 bad bouts of sciatica, the pain in my left leg was very severe. My doctor gave me several strong pain killers, but none took the pain away. I was taken into hospital, put onto traction and given an epidural. Not much good, the stay in hospital lasted a month. After that I was given physiotherapy on quite a few occasions, the pain over the next few years was intermittent it did make life hard at times and frustrated me because of the limit to what I could do, gardening, dancing and walking etc.

About 3 years ago my GP sent me for an MRI scan. At the follow-up at North Tees Hospital the consultant looked at the scan and said he could not do anything for me, so I thought that's it, then one year later a letter out of the blue came from Mr. Krishna to attend his clinic, I did and he said he could perform surgery to ease my pain. About six months later I had the operation on my spine it all went as planned very little discomfort at all and my stay in hospital was made quite pleasant by the very caring staff. Since having the operation the sciatica in my leg has not as yet returned nor do I want it to.

Following the surgery I could walk the very next day, drive 3 months later and after 6 months doing all my household chores and some gardening. I shudder to think what I would be like now if I hadn't had the operation.
