Today, Sunday 3rd March 2004 is a milestone day for me. After a number of years
of pain and restrictive mobility in my neck and back which was worsening and increasingly curtailing my ability to follow my favourite hobby gardening to the extent that I thought I would have to give it up. On 03/08/2004 I had surgery, an instrumented anterior cervical decompression and fusion at C5/6 and 6/7 carried
out at the Woodlands Hospital.
I was delighted today to be able to spend some time in my garden clearing up winter debris. This involved stooping, turning and kneeling (without the kneeling support step that I used to rely on) and I experienced no difficulties and no pain.
Generally I would say I am about 90% pain free with almost a full range of movements.
I am a very grateful patient.
Many thanks.
