Patient Stories

The following stories have been given to us by our patients who have taken part in this project as part of the spinal support group.

These stories are to give us an insight to the situations patients go through, because of their pain. Some of us may be too scared to tell anyone of the pain we have - fearing the outcome of maybe having to have surgery. For some of us the mere thought of discussing the pain and the various treatments available is quite frightening.

The important thing is to tell someone how you feel and how your pain is effecting you, it is up to you to tell someone, otherwise no one will ever know. And if they do not know, it is also hard for them to help you. Do not think you have to live with your pain in silence. Even if you receive treatment and the pain has not gone away totally, at least you will have various ways of easing the pain and leading a more comfortable and normal life.
